Chapter 1: Why Learn a Language?
I believe languages are best acquired through massive amounts of interesting input. This means listening and reading far more than studying grammar charts or drilling vocabulary lists.
I use ideas from ALG (Automatic Language Growth) and Krashen’s input hypothesis: the brain naturally acquires language when it understands messages. My daily practice involves reading books, watching shows, and listening to podcasts in my target languages.
Over time, this builds a deep and intuitive feel for the language, just like how children learn.
